As 2025 draws to a close, we’re proud to look back on a year filled with growth, collaboration, and impact. At DUET diabetes, our mission has always been clear: to empower healthcare professionals and care providers with the knowledge, confidence, and skills they need to support people living with diabetes. This year has been no exception and what a year it has been.

Connecting Through Events

From national conferences to local forums, DUET diabetes has been out in force across the UK. These events have given us the chance to meet so many inspiring people, share best practice, and learn from influential voices across health and social care. Every conversation has fed directly into the workshops and training we deliver, ensuring they remain relevant, evidence-based, and impactful.

Workshops That Make a Difference

People living with diabetes continue to be at the heart of everything we do.  Whether it’s diabetic foot screening, ABPI assessment, insulin awareness, or eating for health, each session is designed to provide practical, hands-on training that professionals can apply immediately in their daily practice.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to launch a brand-new workshop in 2026: Demystifying Dopplers & Diabetic Foot Screening Refresher. Taking place in Barnsley on 27 March — the day before the Yorkshire Foot Health Conference — this session will offer clear, confidence-building guidance on Doppler use. With additional locations planned, including Swindon, we’re eager to bring this new learning opportunity to more professionals across the UK.

Sharing Our Story

This year also saw DUET diabetes featured on Behind the Clinic Doors: The Foot Health Podcast. Lynne and Gareth shared the story behind DUET, explored the importance of awareness and education, and highlighted how collaboration between practitioners, patients, and the wider public can transform foot health outcomes.

Publications and Resources

We’ve continued to share expertise through respected journals such as Nursing Times, Caring News, and Care Management Matters. Our blog has offered practical advice for care homes, including our popular Top Five Footcare Tips for Care Homes.

A particular highlight was the launch of Care of Older People with Diabetes: A Manual for Healthcare Practice. Lynne’s contribution to the chapter on management in care homes provides essential guidance for supporting residents with diabetes — a resource we hope will help to make a difference in practice.

Looking Forward

2025 has been a year of laughter, learning, and knowledge-sharing. We’re grateful to all the healthcare professionals, care providers, and partners who have joined us on this journey. Together, we’re making strides toward safer, more effective diabetes care.

Here’s to an even brighter 2026 — filled with new workshops, fresh insights, and continued collaboration.
